"1996 I started using various pre-recorded sequences on mini disc players, as an reaction to DJ turntable beat-mixing. This "Mix Your Own"-program contains home made sequences only. On stage, I played back 10 separate tracks ( left and right is recorded separately ), played back at once. Mini Disc Players do not allow synchronisation like computer and Midi-machines do. In order to keep
the timing proper I developed sequences with one determined tempo. Thus, I could fade sequences in and out or mix them at any point to create live compositions by chance." |
